Tropical Extravaganza 2011
Mangrove Village - installation in the Prince of Wales Conservatory
The Mangrove Village in the Prince of Wales Conservatory replicated a typical picturesque Caribbean fishing village and was
commissioned to enhance the Mangrove area as part of the annual Kew Gardens Tropical Extravaganza festival.
Dotted around a pond, the lively and realistic installation comprised of a series of cabanas and stilts houses in typical Central America’s architecture and some examples of the prevalent fauna of the area: a colony of Red Mangrove Crabs, Roseate Spoonbills, Great Blue Heron, a flock of Yellow Warblers and a selection of Sea Anemones.
