Tropical Birds - installation in the Prince of Wales Conservatory
The tropical bird installation represented the variety of birds found in the Amazonian rainforest and was sited in the tropical rainforest zone in the Prince of Wales Conservatory.
I replicated some of the most common species such as Macawas and Parakeets, Ibis and Cock of the Rocks, Birds of Paradise and the totally fanciful Tropical Phoeanix. To recreate the visual splendour of tropical birds, each one was individually crafted using a vast assortment of iridescent, shimmery materials and richly decorated.
